Yoram Cedar vice president at SanDisk : SanDisk Corporation US announced today the promotion of Yoram Cedar to the position of executive vice president of the handset business and corporate engineering at SanDisk United States of America. In his new position, Cedar will report to Sanjay Mehrotra, SanDisk’s chief operating officer, and will have responsibility for leading the creation of new flash memory platforms and markets for the mobile phone business. In addition, he will continue to have responsibility for SanDisk’s worldwide corporate engineering organization as well as developing the U3 (USB smart drives companie), education, mobile content and ecommerce markets.

Yoram’s promotion to executive vice president is well deserved and commensurate with his proven management skills and experience in the flash memory industry, said Mehrotra. Under his direction, Yoram has led SanDisk’s engineering and emerging market business development organizations to develop TrustedFlash, a highly secure platform for the storage and distribution of premium content for handsets and other mobile devices. Also developed was the new U3 platform.
U3 platform - Education market
The U3 platform is designed to enable consumers to have their work space with them wherever they go, as well as the FlashCP secure end-to-end platform for the education market. This has allowed SanDisk to create new businesses and markets that are expected to power future growth for the company. In addition, Yoram’s leadership has helped SanDisk to maintain its lead in both NAND Multi-Level Cell (MLC) technology and worldwide market share for removable storage cards. Yoram is a valued member of SanDisk’s executive management team.”

Cedar was previously the senior vice president of engineering and emerging market business development, responsible for the engineering development and transfer to production of SanDisk’s retail and OEM business unit products, the continued development of storage cards as well as NAND memory development, assembly and packaging engineering and new emerging platforms.

Cedar began his career at SanDisk in 1998 when he joined as vice president of systems engineering. He has extensive experience working in product definition, marketing and development of systems and embedded flash-based semiconductors. Prior to SanDisk, he was the vice president of new business development at Waferscale Integration and has more than 20 years of experience in design and engineering management of electronic systems.
