This new model features a 8 Megapixel CCD image sensor and a 2.4-inch (6.1cm) TFT monitor on the back of the camera. The design of the camera is very compact and the G.U.I (Graphical User Interface) has been updated to give the highest possible user-friendly operation. With the 3x optical zoom and the combination of the 8 Megapixel high resolution the Praktica Luxmedia 8003 is ready to provide you with stunning and sharp results. Furthermore the Praktica 8003 has user-friendly scenes on board offering 9 various scene settings. The built-in flash provides you extra light when needed.

With the video setting you will be able to use the Praktica Luxmedia 8003 as a multimedia digital camera. The camera offers a VGA resolution (640x480 pixels) or 320x240 and 160x120 pixels. All the video resolutions are recorded with a frame speed of 30 fps. The optical zoom range of the Praktica DCZ 6.2 digital camera reaches from 35 - 105mm. Shutter speed range covers 8 to 1/1000 second with an exposure compensation of -/+ 2V with 0.3 EV steps. The camera gets its power from 2 Alkaline or NiMH batteries.
