NikonToday Nikon introduces the Coolpix 3700, a surprisingly versatile and user friendly lightweight compact camera with numberless advanced functions. The new Coolpix 3700 camera is equipped with a 3.2 Megapixel CCD and a 3x optical zoom lens. It is designed to be a compact, easy to carry around camera that is not too vulnerable and may also be seen because of its nice appearance. The nicely shaped body of brushed aluminium only measures 95.5x50x31mm. We were able to get a first look at this new Nikon model and you can read about it in the extended article. Like all cameras from the Coolpix line, also this Coolpix 3700 is meant to give access to starting photographers to the digital photography.

Simple operation: The amount of operation elements on the Coolpix 3700 is kept to a minimum. And the existing buttons are placed in exactly the right spot to make operation as easy as possible. The camera is ready to shoot when activated and has a minimum interval of release so photos can be taken one right after the other.
15 Scene settings: The Coolpix has no less than 15 scene settings, like Portrait, Party/indoors, Sunset, Museum, Fireworks and Panorama. The camera will automatically select the optimum settings for the chosen situation.
Continuous shooting: Thanks to the fast shutter it is possible to shoot 2.5(H) or 1.5(L) images per second. The new option Multi-shot even allows taking 16 successive images in one picture.
Macro: In Macro mode the Coolpix 3700 takes very clear pictures up to a distance of 4 cm.
TV Movie: The Coolpix 3700 has eight movie settings at his disposal, including a new setting called TV Movie with which, on a base of streaming technology, movies with sound on television format (640x480 pixels) can be recorded.

All in one
The Coolpix 3700 is standard delivered with a charger for the rechargeable Li-ion battery, a 16MB Secure Digital memory card, the software packages Nikon View and Adobe Photoshop Elements and a soft case.

The Coolpix 3700 will be available by the end of this year.
