RolleiRollei dt4000 digital camera introduction: Rollei released this day two 4 Megapixel cameras and after looking through the specification sheets we can conclude that there are just a few differences between them. First of all the new Rollei dt4000 has a slightly larger tele range, 115mm compared with 104mm of the Rollei dt4200 camera. Further differences are an internal USB interface vs. docking station and a faster shutter speed of 1/2000s vs. 1/1000. With the new Rollei dt4000 Rollei expands its camera series with a new 4 Megapixels camera. The Rollei dt4000 is a compact, stylish metal body. The Rollei dt4000 has a 3x optical and 4x digital zoom, and also offers photographers the option to record movie clips and voice commentaries.

Rollei's new digital camera, the Rollei dt4000, works with a 3x AF zoom lens having a focal length of 8.0-24 mm f/2.8-4.9, which is equivalent to 38-115 mm in 35mm terms. Cropping is made easy through the real image optical zoom finder. The autofocus of the Rollei dt4000 is sharp from 0.5 m to infinity, and the macro range is between 15 and 50 cm. Shutter speed extends from 4 to 1/2000 s. An LCD of 1.6-inch displays all the relevant data. In image capture mode, the photographer has a choice between single-frame and continuous shooting.

Rollei dt4000 digital camera - Features
Exposure correction and white balance can be adjusted either manually or automatically. Optimum lighting is provided by the built-in flash, which features the following modes: auto, forced, off, red-eye reduction and night mode. Apart from the normal image-capture mode, the Rollei dt4000 can also be used for recording movie clips with voice commentaries. For this purpose, it is equipped with a built-in microphone and loudspeaker. The video clips are captured at 320x240 pixels and 20fps. Images are saved in JPEG, EXIF 2.1 and DPOF formats, either to the 16MB internal memory or to a Secure Digital or MultiMedia card. To transfer the image or video data to a PC, the Rollei dt4000 digital camera has a USB interface and video port (NTSC, PAL). The Rollei dt4000 will be in the shops from November 2003.
