RolleiRollei dt4200 digital camera introduction: Rollei has launched, next to the Rollei dt3200 already presented in September, a compact digital camera with 4.23 Megapixels and a docking station. The Rollei dt4200 has a compact metal body and features a 1/2.5-inch 4.23 Megapixels CCD. This sensor offers a maximum image resolution of 2720x2040 pixels. The 3x optical zoom lens with a brightness of f2,8 - f4,8 covers a focal length from 5.8 to 17.4mm or maybe more understandable a focal length equivalent to 35-104mm in 35mm photography. Beside the optical zoom the new dt4200 features a 4x digital zoom. Automatic focusing is possible from 0.5 m to infinity. In addition, there is a close-focusing mode for subject distances from 15 to 50 cm.

The fastest shutter speed of the Rollei dt4200 is 1/1000 second. On the back of the camera is a high-resolution 1.6-inch TFT color LCD giving access to the settings and functions of the Rollei dt4200. Among these functions is a single frame or continuous shooting, exposure compensation (auto, manual, max. +/- 2EV in 0.5EV increments) and different flash modes like auto, fill-in, off, red eye reduction and night mode). White balance is possible either automatically or manually and offers presets for shade, sun, tungsten light and fluorescent lamps.

The Rollei dt4200 is able to capture still images, video clips (320x240 pixels - 15-20 fps with sound) and voice commentaries. The images are stored in the internal 16MB memory or on an external Secure Digital or MultiMedia card. The data can be downloaded directly to a computer via the USB interface of the docking station. Power is supplied by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which can be recharged also via the docking station. The Rollei dt4200 digital camera will be available from dealers starting in November of this year.
