KopiniVision Technology wins Awards at Electronic Fair : Kopin Corporation, the largest USA manufacturer of microdisplays for mobile consumer and military electronics, and Solomon Systech International, a global fabless semiconductor company specializing in display driver integrated circuits, took top honors last week for Kopin's Binocular Display Module product based on Digital iVision technology at the Electronic Asia and Electronics Fair in Hong Kong, the second largest consumer electronics show with more than 60,000 participants. Kopin and Solomon Systech won both the Grand Award and Gold Award for "Outstanding Innovation and Technology Products" from the show's sponsor, the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association (HKEIA).
iVision Technology wins Award at Electronic FairKopin's Eyewear Microdisplays
BDM is a complete video subsystem for eyewear that integrates Kopin's microdisplays, Solomon Systech's microdisplay controller IC, and other electronics and optics for mobile video applications into a lightweight, self-contained unit. "We are honored to receive this award with our partner, Solomon Systech. It further validates that the mobile video revolution is well underway. By freeing video eyewear manufacturers from the technical complexity of the display system, the BDM products will substantially shorten the time to market, lower the cost of video eyewear, and accelerate the revolution further," said Dr. John C.C. Fan, president and CEO of Kopin.

Kopin Digital iVision technology
Digital iVision technology offers big pictures on the go in a compact package. Digital iVision technology compresses the full-screen image into tiny microdisplays. The image is then enlarged using optical elements that enable the eyes to perceive a much larger image. The key enabler for Digital iVision technology is Kopin's CyberDisplay(R) microdisplays which are the industry's smallest light-transmitting liquid crystal displays for the resolution -- in sizes ranging from a grain of rice to a postage stamp, which has better than high-definition TV resolution. Kopin's transmissive displays allow thin, simple optical elements, which translates into lightweight compact eyewear.

HKEIA Award - Innovation and Technology
The HKEIA Award for Outstanding Innovation and Technology Products recognizes and rewards companies that produce new products with excellent design, technology or features. The winners were selected by an independent judging panel comprising academia, representatives of public bodies and different commercial fields.
