Steve's DigicamsCanon Powershot SD450 review at Steves Digicams : Our good friends at Steves Digicams have published their review of the new Canon Powershot SD450 digital camera. The Canon SD 450 camera offers a big 2.5-inch LCD screen and features a new UI display designed to capitalize on the larger screen size. The Canon Powershot SD450 is packed with a high resolution 5.0 Megapixel CCD image sensor, a retractable 3x optical zoom lens with macro capabilities as close as four inches, shutter speeds from 15 to 1/2000th of second, a fast 9-point AiAF “Smart” autofocus system, a new and more powerful built-in flash, rechargeable battery and a large 2.5-inch color LCD monitor, all driven by the exclusive DIGIC II processor.

According to Steve: "Its 2.5-inch LCD has both an anti-glare coating and brightness adjustment, making it usable even on the brightest of days. You can also opt to use the zoom-coupled optical viewfinder, just remember it only shows about 80-85% of the captured image. When shooting in low-light, the LCD "gains up" very well, allowing you to frame your subject. Playback mode was very useful, providing a large and bright display, image magnification of up to 10x, and a detail display mode that includes exposure settings and a histogram."

Powershot SD450 - Steves Digicams conclusion
Steve continues: "Shooting performance was very robust with power up until the first image captured took only 1.4 seconds! We noticed moderate barrel distortion at wide angle, but no pin cushioning at telephoto. Chromatic aberrations are well controlled, with only the slightest amount of purple fringing detectable in high contrast areas. The majority of our images were sharp with very accurate color balance. Overall, our movie samples were excellent, showing minimal compression artifacts. You want to learn more about the Canon Powershot digital camera? About Steve's Digicam Online
Steve's Digicams was founded in the year 1997, by, indeed, Steve. Steve Sanders is well experienced in photography, 30 years, and wants to share this experience with everyone on the Internet. Steve's motto is: simplicity. The way the website is build makes it also possible for those who haven't got a fast connection to download the website very quickly. In the same way the reviews are being written. According to Steve, it should not be necessary to follow a course in photography to be able to understand a review. For this approach Steve is well known world wide and he is welcome to it by his many readers. Beside test reports Steve's site has various other items, like a forum, camera specifications, daily "breaking" news.
