Video Editing Software wins Design Award : Ulead Systems, Inc., a 16-year industry leader in video, image and DVD software, today announced that the company's consumer video editing software, Ulead VideoStudio 9, has received a prestigious Good Design Award 2005 from the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO). Ulead VideoStudio 9 is an easy-to-use software program that lets users turn home videos into fun-to-watch movies, providing editing options for novice to advanced users. The award is the third consecutive year that VideoStudio has won a Good Design award and makes Ulead the only Taiwan software company to receive three consecutive Good Design awards.

For fast transfers to DVD, the DV-to-DVD wizard goes from camera to DVD in just two steps. The MovieWizard provides easy templates and automation for creating videos and slideshows. The full video editor gives users full control while presenting video editing as a simple seven-step process. "Compared with the previous version, both the UI and operability have improved," said Good Design jury member Takeshi Toya. "Users of differing ages and skill levels can enjoy video editing thanks to the range of approaches the products offers."
About the Good Design Award and G-Mark
The Good Design Award is Japan's only comprehensive design evaluation/recommendation system. This system is based on the Good Design Selection System which was established by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry of Japan in 1957. The judging criteria for the Good Design Award include beauty, integrity, originality, ability to meet the needs of the intended users, ease-of-use, safety, functionality, performance, and value.
