PhotographyBlogSony P200 reviewed at PhotographyBlog DIWA member Mark Goldstein from PhotographyBlog has reviewed the Sony Cybershot P200 digital camera. The new Cybershot DSC-P200 digital camera features a Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar 3x optical zoom lens and a large 2-inch LCD screen, making it easy for friends and family to gather round and enjoy images. The Sony Cybershot DSC-P200 is packed with features and benefits typically found on more full-sized cameras. At just one inch thin, it takes vibrant digital photos, capturing color and detail. The Sony Cybershot P200 also captures and plays back high resolution moving images. The MPEG-VX Fine mode allows you to record MPEG video with 640x480 pixel resolution at 30 frames per second.

According to Mark Goldstein: "The noise levels look fine at ISO 100, but there's already some noise starting to appear at ISO 200 and the image quality has deteriorated quite a lot at ISO 400. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P200 handled chromatic aberrations extremely well during the review. Only very high-contrast situations like those shown below caused any problems, with very limited purple fringing present around the edges of over-exposed parts of the image. The Sony DSC-P200 produced images of above average quality during the review period."

Sony Cybershot P200 - PhotographyBLOG review conclusion
Mark continues: "It's not quite the perfect compact digicam though. As with most compact cameras that offer 7 and 8 Megapixels, noise is the main problem with the Sony Cybershot P200. Here, noise is fairly obvious at ISO 200, which isn't a particularly fast speed, and at the fastest speed of ISO 400 the image starts to take on a blurry look. For everyone else, who mainly takes photos outside, or indoors with flash, the Sony Cybershot DSC-P200 is a great pocket digital camera…" You want to learn more about the Sony Cybershot digital camera? About PhotographyBLOG
Mark Goldstein started his very active website PhotographyBlog in January 2003. At first the one and only purpose was to let this site function as one of those popular weblogs with Photography as main topic. But as we all know Photography is a pretty big subject to publish about so Mark decided to focus on some hot key points like mentioning all new introductions, reviews, reports from events like PMA and Photokina, sharing some impressive and creative photos and Mark's sole perspective of his feeling about this fascinating world of Digital Imaging. Mark is based in the UK, but his eagle-eye focuses global! Be sure to visit his weblog about Photography, in fact bookmark it, because we believe that Mark is pretty close to become an active and respected website. To us PhotographyBlog is one of the surprises of 2004/2005.
