SanDiskTower supplies security device for SanDisk : Tower Semiconductor Ltd. a pure-play independent specialty foundry, today announced that Tower will manufacture a highly secure memory controller for SanDisk Corporation's new family of TrustedFlash memory cards. The controller is manufactured at Tower's Fab2, in 0.18-micron geometry. The memory controller on SanDisk's TrustedFlash products was co-developed with Tower to include advanced security features that allow safe transfer of downloaded content such as music files, movies and games. TrustedFlash cards are intended for use in portable devices such as mobile phones, MP3 players, Personal Digital Assistants, portable games and more.

"The highly secure memory controller, pioneered on SanDisk corporation’s new secured products, is unprecedented in its security features," said Rafi Nave, vice president and chief technology officer of Tower Semiconductor. "Supporting SanDisk's demanding specifications for product security was a challenge, but Tower Semiconductor’s engineering and production teams have again proven their ability to deliver fast and much, we hope to work with SanDisk again in the future."
