SanDiskYahoo Music supports SanDisk TrustedFlash : SanDisk announced that Yahoo! Music Engine will be available with music cards that feature SanDisk TrustedFlash. Users will be able to directly subscribe to the Yahoo! Unlimited music service to listen to music and preview/unlock an artist’s back catalog. The Yahoo Engine will let Gruvi card users music cards for mobile phones and other portable devices play their music on Windows XP/2000 PCs. SanDisk and Yahoo have also agreed to bundle the Yahoo! Music Engine software client with the TrustedFlash plug-in directly into upcoming TrustedFlash-based music cards. With this plug-in, the software needed to play back music on SanDisk’s TrustedFlash Music Cards will be located on the card itself.

SanDisk TrustedFlash cards feature an on-board processor and cryptographic engine that incorporate a highly secure content and digital rights management (DRM) solution that provides a significantly higher level of security than previously existed on memory cards. These new cards let consumers access premium content like music, movies and games on the mobile devices and securely use the Internet or their mobile network to get additional content with ultimate portability.

SanDisk partners with Yahoo! Music
“Yahoo! Music is one of the most popular music services today and we are very excited to partner with them to launch our TrustedFlash Music Cards,” said Pedro Vargas, director of Mobile Entertainment at SanDisk. “Yahoo! Music Engine lets consumers play SanDisk’s TrustedFlash Music Cards on the PC in a secure environment that’s also friendly to providers of premium content like the major music labels.”

Yahoo Music - Support for TrustedFlash
David Goldberg, vice president and general manager at Yahoo! Music, said, “Yahoo! Music is pleased to support SanDisk’s worldwide launch of TrustedFlash Music Cards. SanDisk is leading the way for next-generation memory cards and we share the same drive to provide consumers with compelling entertainment experiences, on both their PCs and their mobile devices.”
