Olympus Evolt E-500 preview at Steves Digicams : Our good friends at Steves Digicams have published their preview of the new Olympus Evolt E500 D-SLR camera. The new Olympus E500 camera is a model for semi-professional and ambitious amateur photographers. The new E500 D-SLR camera is a camera you can rely on, even when you use it in dusty environments. Due to the Olympus-exclusive Supersonic Wave Filter, photos remain unaffected from airborne contaminants and are faithfully captured in 8.0 Megapixel quality using the first class Full Frame Transfer CCD. And thanks to nearly telecentric optics that are specifically designed for SLR photography, the images boast incredibly uniform, edge-to-edge fidelity and brightness.

Steves Digicams preview - E500 D-SLR
According to Steve: "The Evolt E-500 digital SLR camera is constructed of tough and durable polycarbonate plastic. The Olympus E500 D-SLR measures 5.09 x 3.72 x 2.59 inches. Weighing only 15.3 ounces, the Evolt E-500 DSLR is light and compact enough to comfortably shoot with all day. The Olympus E-500 returns to the more "traditional look" of a digital SLR with its standard roof prism viewfinder design. The all-metal lens mount for the Four Thirds System is twice the diagonal measurement of the imager. With this lens mount the body size, lens size and overall weight are reduced.
