MetzMetz Mecablitz 54 MZ-4i Flash : Metz was also present at the IFA 2005 event. Although mainly focused on television applications and devices I found a new flash made especially for Nikon digital SLR cameras. Perfect flash photography with Nikon digital cameras is the strength of the powerful Metz Mecablitz 54 MZ-4i. The integration of high-precision flash modes guarantees uniform exposures with brilliant, yet highly differentiated colour rendering. Depending on the camera model, you can select the D-TTL, 3D/D-TTL or 3D multi-sensor fill-in modes, as well as i-TTL or i-TTL BL flash control. Furthermore, the Metz Mecablitz 54 MZ-4i can be used with system cameras from other manufacturers merely by exchanging the corresponding adapter.

The performance of the Mecablitz is very convincing in many respects: High light output with a guide number of 54 at ISO 100/21 degrees. Wide illumination angle: Covers the focal length from 20mm to 105mm. Fill-in flash. Versatility: A multitude of interesting special functions for thrilling creative scope. Simple operation: A large display provides all the information that could possibly be needed. Flexibility: The versatile SCA system with its numerous adapters for almost any system camera.

Metz flash - Ultra-rapid shutter speeds
The High-Speed Synchronization feature (HSS) ensures perfect flash photography at shutter speeds faster than the camera’s sync speed. This is vital for fill-in flash to produce a uniformly exposed portrait against a blurred background.

For years Metz have been continuously extending their leading position in the field of flash photography. And this is hardly surprising in view of the company's extremely versatile product portfolio ranging from the compact flash unit to the powerful handle-mount flashguns to provide the right light for any situation and requirement, for either analog or digital cameras. The so-called fully dedicated flash units provide access to a host of special functions of cameras from the world's leading manufacturers. Moreover, Metz even have the matching flash response for analog and digital compact cameras that do not have a flash connection. The Metz range is backed by the fabulous SCA adapter system which ensures that Metz flash units can be readily adapted to almost any camera model. Consequently, the camera can be changed, but the Metz flash unit remains unchanged!
