Samsung VP-MS10 digital camera : After walking for miles I finally entered the hall where Samsung is located. When almost leaving the hall, with a lot of consumers accompanying me, I suddenly saw a new digital camera sneaky mounted on a demonstration desk. The name Miniket did ring a bell, but wasn't it related to video? Well, Samsung decided to introduce Miniket as a range of products that is versatile in its category. First there was video and photo, later on MP3 and voice recorder, add data storage and web cam to it and you have a multifunctional digital camera that will make your life easier, at least this is what Samsung would like to make you believe. The Samsung VP-MS10 has a 5.25 Megapixel CCD on board and 3x optical zoom.|

As a digital still camera the new Samsung VP-MS10 is looking stylish and has a fresh design. Personally I find it too shiny leaving fingerprints everywhere, but I can imagine that its design will appeal to many consumers. Although the camera only provides a 3x optical zoom it has a digital image stabilizer (DIS) that will guarantee sharp images even when you are on the move and it eliminates blurry shakiness even after you had too much to drink. When we turn the Samsung VP-MS10 digital camera around we see a large 2.5-inch display for viewing or composing the images.

Integrated in the Samsung MS10 digital camera is an MP3 player. Despite the size of only a business card at 96cc, the Miniket Photo has a large built-in memory capacity of 64MB. With 1GB external memory you are able to store up to 250 songs. With the voice recorder function it is possible to easily record meetings and lectures. You can record up to 17 hours in stereo sound with the built-in microphone.

Besides capturing still images the Samsung VP-MS10 is also capable of capturing video clips. The built-in camcorder function captures high quality VGA (640 x 480 pixels) clips at 30fps with the use of DIS (digital image stabilizer). During recording you are able to zoom in 3x (optically). When not recording but only transmitting via AV out the Miniket VP-MS10 digital camera makes clips in a resolution of 720 x 576 pixels at 25fps. Those of you who like chatting in combination with a web cam can use the MS10 camera. Connect it via USB 2.0 and use it as a web cam.
Samsung VPMS10 camera - Data storage
You can use the VPMS10 digital camera as a 'portable hard drive'. Miniket Photo's built-in memory of 64MB makes transferring files and images from a PC to the Miniket Photo or vice versa via USB 2.0 very easy. If the built-in memory isn't sufficient you can enlarge it with an external miniSD card.
Samsung - Business card sized camera
Samsung designed the VP-MS10 with flexibility in mind. An intuitional mode dial key provides easy and quick control. For added convenience, users are able to charge the VP-MS10 via a USB connection to a PC, so that there is no need to travel with a power cable or optional charger. "Samsung is always looking to combine stunning design with high functionality," said Byoungyoul Yu, Senior Vice President of the Digital Video Division at Samsung Electronics. "We are bringing to market multi-functional products that change consumers’ perceptions over the limitations of a digital device. The VP-MS10 allows consumers to carry one business card-sized device whether they wish to record high quality digital video, digital photos or MP3s.”
