CasioCasio celebrates 10 years digital photography : This year Casio is celebrating a special anniversary at the IFA, the International Radio and Television Exhibition in Berlin, it was ten years ago that the Japanese corporation launched the first digital camera for consumers, the QV-10, on to the market. The complicated technology was reduced in size for the first time in such a way that it fitted in a camera body. A piece of pioneering for the company, which smoothed the way into a new market: the market of digital photography. While the QV-10 enthused in 1995 with a storage capacity of 96 photos and a resolution of 320×240 pixels, we calculate nowadays in very different dimensions.

But from the first picture definition on VGA level with the QV-100 in 1996 to the first 1.3 Megapixels digital camera by Casio in 1998, the company surprised unremittingly with new models of the highest technical quality. In the course of the last few years Casio has firmly established itself in the photo market again and again with new achievements. The pioneer model QV-10 of the past has become a wide range of brand products today. A further stroke of genius followed in June 2002: Casio introduces the Exilim EX-S1, the world's first ultra-slim LCD digital camera in credit card format.

The Casio Exilim EX-S1 has an integrated LCD display and fits comfortably into any small bag. An absolute world innovation, which is once again setting trends in the field of digital photography. Ultra-small appliances combined with first-rate technical performances! The 2004 Exilim Card EX-S100 with its ceramic lens, which provides fantastic picture quality owing to the high resolution ability and precise refraction of light, is also unique up to now. And as if that isn't enough: Exilim, which has matured into a lifestyle brand, is still impressive with numerous digital cameras from the Card, Zoom and Pro sectors and accessories like camera bags, table tripods, underwater casings, cleaning kits and neck straps.
