LexarLexar and Memorex settled patent infringement : Lexar Media today announced that it has settled its patent infringement case with Memorex (Memtek Products Inc.). The litigation involved only certain CompactFlash cards sold by Memorex prior to November 2004. In the settlement agreement, Memorex will make a one-time payment for past sales of these products to Lexar and will agree to an injunction which would prohibit it from selling CompactFlash products that infringe Lexar's patents in the future. The settlement agreement does not include a license for future sales. "We are glad that we were able to constructively resolve our dispute with Memorex," said Eric Whitaker, executive vice president and general counsel, Lexar.
