The guys from A Digital Eye have posted an extensive initial impression of the already famous new baby from the Canon family. The new Canon EOS 300D, or Rebel for the US market, has made quite some fame before it actually hits the market. Of course the ground breaking price had some major impact and we are really very curious how the rest of those brands out there will react on this stunning manoeuvre of Canon. We actually did not expect the introduction and such a price to happen that soon, we thought of February/March 2004, but September 2003? No way! Well, Canon decided to force everyone to make a big step in staying an important player on the DSLR market or loose some share of the amateur DSLR market.

The team of A Digital Eye have posted an article with links to 32 original unaltered Fine Quality JPEGs and also some resized versions of the same material. The images are all made at the Newport Bay in Newport Beach, California.
The Canon EOS 300D/Rebel is the first entry-level DSLR camera on the market that has a price tag of US$899 (Euro 1099). The way we see it Canon will open the market for a lot of consumers that are willing to make the switch to digital but until now did not act because of the high consumer prices for DSLR cameras.
Are you interested in a bunch of samples from a final production EOS 300D /Rebel camera? Curious on what to expect? Don't wait, hop on over to A Digital Eye! The related links mentioned below this article will give you access to the samples. |
