Card MediaX'S-Drive 2 XL VP2260 drive introduction : Cardmedia (Europe) Ltd, the official UK distributor for the XS Drive Portable Storage devices, has announced the availability of the X’S-Drive 2 XL VP2260, a new Portable Storage Device with blue backlight LCD display, replacing the popular XS Drive II Plus VP2160. The X’S-Drive 2 XL VP 2260 remains a 2 button operation unit; “Power on / off” and “Copy” with a blue backlight LCD display for file transfer status, battery power level and capacity left on the HD. The X’S-Drive 2 XL VP2260 allows the transfer of pictures and any other file from any memory card including xD picture cards via the 2 multi-memory card slots to its internal 2.5 inch hard drive.

All types of memory cards which can used are: CompactFlash, IBM Microdrive, SmartMedia, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, and xD picture card without any adapter. The easy to use Copy function copies files from your memory cards with just the press of a button, and the names of the files being transferred are indicated on its LCD Panel. The X’S Drive 2 XL has the latest technology implemented: long life built-in internal rechargeable batteries for up to 2 hours of use, high speed copy transfer rates (a 1GB memory card transfers in 8 minutes), and compact casing for easy carrying.

The X’S Drive 2 XL weights only 230g with the built-in hard drive and is easy to carry (11.6x7.8x2.3cm). The X’S Drive 2 XL works with 2.5 inches Hard Drives of any capacity. You can purchase the X’S-Drive II Plus with a pre-installed Hard Drive or install your own (provided it’s 9.5mm).

XS Drive VP2260 - Compatibility and Speed
The X’S-Drive 2 XL works with all current memory cards used with digital cameras: CompactFlash, IBM Microdrive, SmartMedia, Memory Stick (Sony & Lexar Media), Memory Stick Pro, Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, and xD picture cards. The file transfer from a memory card to the X’S-Drive 2 XL is performed quickly by the X’S-Drive. The file transfer to and from your computer are done via the fast USB 2.0 interface connection. A 1GB memory card is transferred in 8mins.
