Due to these diverse applications, the speed performances required for the SD Memory Card have been diversified as well, according to the kind of products used by consumers. To better serve these diverse consumer needs, Panasonic is expanding its SD Memory Card and miniSD Card line up by adding the three new models, thus offering consumers wider choices that can meet their varying needs and budgets.

Panasonic’s new 2GB "PRO HIGH SPEED Series" SD Memory Card is being launched in Europe in August 2005, with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of ?249.99. With its outstanding data transfer rate of up to 20MB/s and its 2GB massive storage capacity, the new Panasonic "PRO HIGH SPEED" 2GB card is designed to meet tough and severe requirements including high speed consecutive shooting by high-end DSC and MPEG2 video recording by Video Camcorders. The 2GB card also offers consumers stress-free, speedy data backup when they need to transfer data to a PC. With this addition to the "PRO HIGH SPEED Series", which also consists of the 512MB and 1GB SD Cards, Panasonic is continuing to lead the SD Memory Card market for wider and sophisticated applications.

High Speed 1GB SD Memory Card
Panasonic is also adding the 1GB SD Memory Card to its existing "HIGH SPEED Series" 128MB, 256MB and 512MB SD Memory Cards. With a data transfer rate of up to 5MB/s, the new model will be available in August 2005 in Europe, at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of ?99.99. With this new entry, Panasonic "HIGH SPEED Series" SD Memory Cards are offering wider capacity options from 128MB to 1GB, thus meeting the requirements of entry-level DSC, MPEG4 video recording, digital audio player, PDA, etc. while also satisfying the needs of cost-conscious consumers.

Panasonic 512MB miniSD Card
