OlympusOlympus E300 version 1.3 firmware update : Olympus has a well founded reputation for revolutionizing the design and construction of cameras, most recently with the design and introduction of their E-system range. The fully digital SLR cameras are based on the DIWA Award-winning FourThirds Standard and have set new standards in SLR photography. As more and more photographers embrace Digital SLRs the Olympus E-300 has proved to be one of the most popular models. Olympus is not only committed to delivering the highest levels of product innovation but also stands faithfully behind its customers with after sales service that’s second to none. To this end a new firmware update (version 1.3) is now available for the E-300.

The enhancements of the Olympus E300 version 1.5 firmware update include Enhanced exposure metering stability which provides even more precise readings and give photographers more control over their compositions, the stability of Digital ESP and Centre-Weighted-Average metering has been improved, and a function called button timer. Photographers can now set the time period for how long a modified setting remains active until it reverts to the basic setting of the mode currently in use. This customised interval setting option lets users tailor the camera better to their specific requirements.

Olympus E300 - Changed start-up process and new Scenes
Further enhancements include two new underwater scene programmes: together with the PT-E01 underwater case and ports for the Olympus E-300, plus the wide range of accessories, photographers can now fully explore beneath the water’s surface. Two new scene programmes, Underwater Macro and Underwater Wide, have been specifically created for underwater photography. The last enhancement is a changed start-up process for future lenses. Looking to the future, the start-up process has been changed to support interchangeable lenses that will be released as the E-System range continues to grow.
