LexarLexar Media, a leading designer, developer and marketer of award-winning high-performance digital media and accessories, today announced that the Sigma SD9 digital SLR camera, which features the FoveonÃ’ X3 image sensor, will support Lexar Media's Write Acceleration (WA) standard with a recently released firmware upgrade available on Sigma's Website. Write Acceleration technology is enabled by firmware residing in both the camera and CompactFlash card. When a WA enabled camera detects a WA enabled card, the two are able to transfer data with less overhead, thereby increasing write speed.Lexar Media introduced Write Acceleration in its Professional Series CompactFlash cards in September 2002.
