MitsubishiXD1000U and XD2000U projector with BriljantColor technology : Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division, maker of award-winning, high quality presentation and display products, is announcing its new XD1000U and XD2000U projectors, at this week’s InfoComm show in Las Vegas. Mitsubishi is the first to introduce BrilliantColor technology from Texas Instruments in its new projectors. Both new projectors offer BrilliantColor for Texas Instruments DLP technology, which utilizes a new color-processing algorithm and system level enhancements to enable higher brightness for both business and home projectors while providing truer, more vibrant colors.

BrilliantColor enables a greater than 50 percent increase in mid-tone images, which are common in video and natural scenes, so the XD1000U and XD2000U reproduces images in realistic and true colors. This greater flexibility in color processing lets customers expand the color palette beyond red, green, and blue to include yellow, white, magenta and cyan. BrilliantColor allows for more realistic and lifelike color reproduction and enables new levels of differentiation for DLP chip technology customers. The XD1000U and XD2000U both offer a five-segment color wheel to optimize color accuracy.

XD1000U and XD2000U projectors - High performance, versatility and rich color
"These new projectors offer easy installation and precise color reproduction," said Frank Anzures, product manager, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America. "Anyone who needs high performance, versatility and rich colors will find the XD1000U and XD2000U perfect choices." Both projectors have XGA resolution (1024 x 768 pixels) and weigh less than 20 pounds. Their contrast ratio of 2000:1 provides details in dark images while keeping light areas from getting washed out. The XD1000U and XD2000U also offer high brightness, 3000 ANSI lumens and 3500 ANSI lumens respectively, and are perfect for nearly any lighting situation.

Mitsubishi projectors - Bayonet lens mount
These projectors also feature a bayonet lens mount and motorized horizontal and vertical lens shift, offering more installation options in board rooms, schools and churches. Once either of these projectors is installed, the image can be adjusted optically or digitally and the lens can be replaced without taking the projector out of its mount. Combined with a 5000-hour rated lamp, the XD1000U and XD2000U require minimal maintenance, saving service hours and money.

Mitsubishi - First to market with BrilliantColor
"Our strong relationship with Texas Instruments allows Mitsubishi to be first to market with BrilliantColor," said James Chan, director of product marketing, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division. "It’s great to introduce this fabulous new technology to our customers here at InfoComm."

Pricing, Availability, Limited Warranty
Product pricing has not yet been determined; upon shipping, the XD1000U and XD2000U will be competitively priced. They will be available in December, 2005 through Mitsubishi’s professional dealer channel and through selected online retailers and retail outlets. The projectors come with a one-year limited warranty on the lamp, a three-year limited warranty on parts and labor and Mitsubishi’s exclusive three-year Express Replacement Assistance program.
