SanDisk expands retail sales into Portugal

SanDiskSanDisk Corporation announced today it has broadened its retail sales into the Republic of Portugal and named Fotimpor as a distributor. Fotimpor distributes photographic equipment and supplies and carries SanDisk's complete line of flash memory cards and accessories. It has significantly increased its sales of SanDisk products within the Portuguese market, including the Azores and Madeira Islands, due to the growing popularity of mobile phones, digital cameras, hand held computers, digital video cameras, MP3 players, key chain USB flash drives and other mobile devices that use removable storage. "We are very happy to add a widely recognized brand like SanDisk to our fine line of products" said Joao Ferreira de Matos.
According to Joao Ferreira de Matos, president and founder of Fotimpor, "With the full range of SanDisk memory cards we will be in position to better serve our customers, allowing them to have a single source for all their needs".

Fred DesCombe, SanDisk's European sales manager, said, "Fotimpor has been a top distributor by representing A-class brands. The company has a proven track record of success and we are very proud to have this mutually beneficial and fruitful relationship with Fotimpor."

SanDisk offers a complete line of flash memory cards that includes CompactFlash, Memory Stick, MultiMediaCards, SD Cards and SmartMedia. The company also offers a full range of USB 2.0 card readers, adapters and Cruzer Mini, a thumbnail-type personal storage device. In addition, SanDisk has announced a new Ultrafast version of its Ultra CompactFlash cards that are specifically designed for high performance digital cameras. The new Ultra II CompactFlash cards ar capable of writing with a speed of 9MB/sec and reads with a transfer rate of 10MB/sec.

The company has built a strong reputation in the field of photography, digital imaging, electronics, audio and video equipment. The company is headquartered in Porto with additional offices in Lisbon.
