"We have worked very hard to take the leadership position in the digital camera storage card market," said Tanya Chuang, product marketing manager for SanDisk's high performance media cards. "It is an honor to be recognized by such a distinguished panel of experts, and this coveted award makes all of us at SanDisk very proud. The TIPA Award is further validation that SanDisk's Extreme III cards will meet the rigorous demands of digital photographers around the world."

TIPA - Conclusion of editors judge
In a statement issued, TIPA said, "New camera generations raise the demand for new forms of storage media and the SanDisk Extreme III memory card doubles the speed of the previous incarnation. It is powered by (SanDisk developed) ESP (Enhanced Super-Parallel Processing) Technology and enables transfer rates up to 20 megabytes (MB) per second between camera and card, thus accelerating storage and viewing of digital photos with high-end, professional digital cameras. Their performance and rugged build make the SanDisk Extreme III memory cards a reliable choice for digital photo professionals."

SanDisk Extreme III - Targeted at high Megapixel cameras
The TIPA award is an endorsement for the superior speed and performance of the SanDisk Extreme III line, which includes CompactFlash, Memory Stick PRO and Secure Digital card formats. SanDisk Extreme III cards are targeted at high-megapixel resolution digital cameras that can take advantage of a significantly faster memory card. The CompactFlash and SD cards have minimum write and read speeds of 20MB/sec. Memory Stick PRO has minimum write and read speeds of 18MB/sec. The cards range in capacity between 1 and 4 gigabytes.
