Canon CanoScan LiDE 60 scanner introductionLiDE 60 - Easy-to-use photo scanner
"With the release of the new CanoScan LiDE 60, Canon continues to assert its global leadership in the digital imaging market," said Yukiaki Hashimoto, senior vice president and general manager of the consumer imaging group at Canon U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Canon Inc. "The Canon CanoScan LiDE 60 Color Image Scanner was created to meet our customers' needs for better, easier-to-use photo scanners that don't take up much space on their desktops."

USB 2.0 High-Speed interface
To boost speed while maintaining simplicity, the new LiDE 60 scanner uses just one USB 2.0 Hi-Speed cable for both USB connectivity and power. The addition of the USB 2.0 High-Speed interface enables lightning fast image transfers from scanner to computer with maximum scanning speeds and previews of scans on the LiDE 60 scanner clocking in at approximately nine seconds, depending upon operating system speed.

Canon LiDE 60 scanner - Features
The LiDE 60 scanner is able to produce a maximum 1200 x 2400 color dpi resolution (software enhanced: 19,200 color dpi) and 48-bit color depth, for over 281 trillion possible colors. The LiDE 60 scanner also features a slim form factor, with a sophisticated metallic finish giving it a sleek, professional look. Four easy-to-use buttons on the LiDE 60 scanner automate the scanning process, making it a snap to scan, copy, and create e-mail attachments or PDFs. A desktop stand included with the LiDE 60 scanner can position it vertically to save desk space.

Canon CanoScan LiDE 60 - Multi-Scan mode
Like the LiDE 25 model, the LiDE 60 scanner has the Canon Advanced Z-Lid expansion top for scanning bulky items. The LiDE 60 scanner also features Multi-Scan mode for scanning multiple images simultaneously with each image saved as an individual file. The LiDE 60 scanner also comes equipped with Quality Automatic Retouching and Enhancement (QARE Level 3) technology. CanoScan Toolbox 4.9, ScanGear CS 11.1, ScanSoft OmniPage SE and Arcsoft PhotoStudio come with the LiDE 60.

Canon LiDE 60 - Scanner sensor
All of the Canon LiDE scanners use a small, low powered LED light source and the integration of lens elements directly on the scanning sensor to substantially reduce the number and size of individual components needed to produce a scanner. This results in a slim design that is lightweight and feature-rich for the end user. Both the CanoScan LiDE 25 and CanoScan LiDE 60 scanners are compatible with Windows XP, 2000, ME or 98 operating systems and Mac OS X (10.2 to 10.3.x) operating systems. The CanoScan LiDE 25 and CanoScan LiDE 60 will be available in June for an estimated selling price of 49.99 and 79.99 respectively.
