Tak ImagingTAK Imaging and Lumax international sign agreement : TAK Imaging, a leading innovator in imaging processors and solutions, today said it has entered into an agreement with Lumax International as its distribution and sales partner in Taiwan & China for a family of new hardware and software solutions aimed at the rapidly growing photo-enabled printer market. "TAK Imaging's solutions will bring a new level of competitiveness and energy to the photo printer market in this region," said Mr. C.K. Lin, CEO of Lumax. "In terms of performance and a design optimized for rapid time to market we don't anticipate seeing any comparable solution available to region manufacturers for some time to come. We are excited about our relationship."

TAK Imaging plans to make its solutions for the inkjet and dye sublimation categories of the photo-enabled printer market available next month. The new solutions, which include hardware, software and a rapid prototyping platform, have been specifically designed to accelerate the growth of at-home photo printing by improving both speed and usability.


Expertise in laser printer controllers
"Lumax has the track record and all the capabilities we were seeking in a partner to help us drive the growth and expansion of photo printing in this region," said Doug Goodyear, CEO of TAK Imaging. "Together, we will enable region manufacturers to address the increasing need for fast and affordable photo printing solutions." During last year TAK Imaging began applying its widely recognized R&D experience and expertise in laser printer controllers to the growing photo-enabled printer category. The company's solutions have helped pioneer a new generation of fast, affordable color laser printers, including the new Konica Minolta magicolor 2430 DL, which this year has captured a number of industry awards, including the CNET Next Big Thing Award at CES in Las Vegas.
