Samsung Digimax i5 - Features
The 1.7 cm flat Digimax i5 from Samsung features 3x optical zoom (39-117 mm/F3.5-4.5 equivalent of a 35mm camera), a 5-Megapixel-CCD-Chip and on-board electronics fully packed with functions. The new Samsung camera can make videos in VGA resolution, with an image rate of 30 frames per second, thanks to MPEG-4, which uses less storage on SecureDigital cards and MultiMediaCards. Forgot to take the memory card with you? You can always use the 50MB built-in memory of the Samsung Digimax i5 | Digimax #1.
Samsung i5 camera - Recording
When taking a picture with the Samsung Digimax i5, you can use the SHD zoom function (SHD stands for "Samsung High definition"). In addition the picture can be stabilized electronically in the video mode, and a special Pause/Resume button makes it possible to interrupt and/or continue the recordings for a short moment. After recording the video, redundant scenes can be cut out of the video; for further editing of the videos taken with the Digimax i5, you can use ArcSoft VideoImpression software.
Samsung Digimax i5 camera - Safety Flash function
The Digimax i5 can not only take photographs with a resolution up to 2.592 x 1.944 pixels, but also features Samsung's new developed Safety Flash function, which protects the image from blurring and gives the photograph a natural lighting effect. With other digital cameras the inexperienced photographer mostly stands for a critical choice: he risks blurring, by using critical exposure times to create a natural lighting effect, or he doesn't; which will result in less natural lighting effects. The Safety Flash function combines blurring security and natural lighting effect thanks to a double exposure use. The camera first "freezes" the picture with a fast shutter speed, and then captures the natural environment light with relatively slower exposure. When using the Safety Flash function, flash will not be used, this prevents the risk of red eyes.
Samsung i5 digital camera - Features
Further features and functions of the Korea Winzlings include a large 2.5" colour LCD screen, with a resolution of 230.000 pixels, a whole set of scene modes (e.g. for images of children or fireworks), various filter effects (B/W, Sepia, colour effects) and editing functions (cut/turn/decrease images), an auto focus with macro and super macro function (minimum distance: 1 cm), various white balance settings (automatic, pre-setting, manual), adjustable ISO sensitivity settings (automatic or manual to ISO 400) and a housing made of high quality aluminium.
Samsung Digimax i5 - Pricing & Availability
The restricted amount of control buttons on only two buttons and four switches around the display is to permit a simple operation of the camera. Also the Samsung i5 features its own docking station. The Samsung Digimax i5 uses a 3.7V Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery of the type SLB-0737 and is PictBridge compatible USB-2.0. The Samsung Digimax i5 will be available in June for a suggested retail price of 350 Euros.
