Konica-MinoltaKonica Minolta DiMAGE Z5 review : Surprisingly soon after introducing the DiMAGE Z3, Konica Minolta announced the introduction of the DiMAGE Z5. The Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z5 now offers more Megapixels; it offers 5 Megapixels to be precise. One of the main changes is the monitor on the back of the camera; it has become a lot larger. Other than that there were minor changes in comparison to the previous model. Features that remained are the large zoom range and the image stabilisation in the form of the Anti-Shake system. The Z-series is a rather striking camera line within the Konica Minolta full range of digital compact cameras. It finds itself in between the real entry-level models and the semi-professionals of the A-series.
Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z5 reviewKonica Minolta Z5 - Image stabilisation
The most important innovation on the Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z5 is undoubtedly the Anti-Shake system that we already saw on other Konica Minolta models. Different image stabilisation systems carry out their performance by moving the lens parts, on the Konica Minolta cameras it is the sensor itself that moves. The movements compen-sate for the movements caused by the photographer. Therefore it is possible to shoot without a tripod with slower shutter speeds. The awarded system works magnificently!

Konica Minolta Z5 digital camera - Lens
The Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z5 certainly draws attention to itself. And not only because of its appearance. That does seem strange at first glance, but it turns out to be a great model which lies comfortably in your hand. On the whole the camera is excellently finished. But the unique part of the Konica Minolta Z5 is definitely the lens. The enormous zoom range makes the Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z5 a versatile camera that can be used on many different occasions. On top of that the lens is of high quality, with little distortion and few purple fringing. The balance remains correct because the lens stays inside the camera when zooming in.
