DCViews Canon 350D digital camera review : The Dutch portal web site DCViews has published Canon's digital jewel, Canon EOS 350D. The new digital SLR camera from Canon has already gained high scores with our digital camera and reading the several reviews published on the Internet we can only conclude that Canon again scored 'Bull's-eye!'. The sales of the EOS 300D, the predecessor, were more then expected, and from a reliable source we learned that, at least in Europe, the new Canon EOS 350D is selling already more than Canon accounted for. We are very curious what the new Nikon D50 and D70a will mean for the selling success of the Canon EOS 350D. The Canon EOS 350D is already available on the market, Nikon still needs to deliver?

DCViews - Camera in practice
According to DCViews: "Physically the camera is quite a bit smaller and lighter than the older 300D. In fact it's almost exactly the same size as the extremely compact Pentax *istDS which we tested earlier. The handgrip on the right is ideal for people with smaller hands, although the lack of space between the grip and the lens mount might pose problems for those with bigger hands and fingers. Although the upgrade from 6 to 8 Megapixel will not be that obvious in day to day photography, the new DIGIC II processor guarantees good contrast and nicely balanced colors for images full of detail."
Canon - More about the new Canon EOS 350D
The Canon EOS 350D features a newly developed, second generation, extremely low noise APS-C size 8.0 Megapixel CMOS sensor. This is the fourth new CMOS sensor from Canon in just twelve months. It is powered by the same DIGIC II image processor found in Canon's professional series D-SLR cameras, and features 3 frame per second, 14 frame burst operation, USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface, simultaneous RAW and Large JPEG writing and 0.2 second start up time. The Canon 350D is more than 10% lighter and 25% smaller by volume than the Canon 300D. The Canon EOS 350D digital camera comes complete with Canon NB-2LH battery pack, charger, USB cable, video cable, wide embroidered anti-slip neck strap. A new optional Canon Battery Grip BG-E3 gives the camera a solid and balanced pro feel, particularly when the camera is fitted with longer lenses, and includes a shutter release and main dial for vertical/portrait shooting. It comes complete with one magazine that takes 6 AA batteries and another that takes two Canon NB-2LH Li-Ion rechargeable batteries. It is available in both black and silver finishes.
