TIPA recognized the significance of a set of standards that seek to store and preserve images that have long had a historical and cultural importance for the whole of mankind, and accordingly selected the PASS group as the recipient of the Best Technology in Europe 2005 Award. The PASS group announced the completion of its version 1.0 specification at the PMA 2005 held in the United States in February this year and at the Photo Imaging EXPO 2005 held in Tokyo in March.

TIPA - Promote the PASS standards
The three group companies have also released a white paper to further explain the merits of the standards, and these are available on the News Release sections of the companies’ respective websites. The companies are also calling for the manufacture of all future products to be compatible to the PASS standards. The Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) is an organization of 31 different specialist camera publications from 12 countries throughout Europe. It is among the leading and most influential organizations in the imaging industry in Europe.
