The first word was that this model supposed to be a digital SLR camera, but when we seaked for more detailed information it appeared that the new Samsung Digimax Pro 815 digital camera is a so called hybrid model, like the Konica Minolta DiMAGE A series. The new Samsung Pro 815 digital camera is equipped with a large optical zoom; 28-420mm. Very interesting should be the fact that the specifications learns us that the camera has a 3.5-inch TFT LCD display, huge! The first product shots of the Samsung Digimax Pro 815 shows a round-edge shaped body with a mechanical zoom.

During a Photo fair in Beijing, China, a new Samsung digital camera was unveiled. The SLR-type digital camera offers a interesting Schneider-Kreuznach 15x optical zoom, with a focal range of 28-420mm. The wide zoom is very interesting and could be even get wider with optional converters. The hybrid model has no interchangeable lenses, but the focal range should cover the demand of the advanced amateur. The start-up time of the new Samsung Digimax Pro 815 is just within 1 second and with an average of 2.5 frames per second the new model reacts quite fast!
