NikonNikon takes the field with the New York Mets : Nikon today announced that it will again take the field with the New York Mets in 2005. For the second year in a row, Nikon will have visible presence and signage throughout Shea Stadium as the new-look Mets take the field. As part of the sponsorship, Nikon will also support Team Photo Day at Shea Stadium, and host the popular Nikon Youth Clinic. Nikon advertising will also be featured on the flagship station of Mets baseball, WFAN 660 AM. Nikon will sponsor Team Photo Day at Shea Stadium by distributing team photos of the 2005 Mets to fans in attendance that day. Additionally, Nikon has brought back the Nikon Youth Clinic.
Nikon takes the field with the New York MetsNikon - Proud to support
"As a corporate citizen of Long Island, Nikon is proud to support our home team, the New York Mets," said Anna Marie Bakker, general manager of Communications for Nikon Inc. "Nikon values creating memories just as much as capturing them, and through our sponsorship of Team Photo Day and the Nikon Youth Clinic, we hope to create unforgettable memories for fans, and a spectacular experience for 125 kids - one they will cherish for years to come."

Nikon - Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
Thanks to Nikon's sponsorship, 125 children will be given the once-in-a-lifetime chance to take the field with several Mets players and coaches for some one-on-one instruction from the pros. For these kids, the childhood dream of playing catch with their favourite major leaguer will soon be a reality. Each child will even get to take home a 4"x6" picture of themselves posing with the players courtesy of Nikon.

Nikon - Private opening day photographers breakfast
Nikon has long been involved with professional sports as the equipment of choice for professional sports photographers. To acknowledge these photographers, Nikon hosted a private Opening Day Photographer's Breakfast on April 11, 2005. Besides great food, the Photographer's Breakfast gave these pros a chance to try out some of the latest Nikon equipment, including the highly anticipated new D2x digital SLR camera. Photographers also utilized a full-service cleaning station, and even won some fantastic prizes, including the Nikon D70 digital SLR camera. The season long partnership stepped up to the plate on Monday, April 11th, as the Mets opened the 2005 campaign at home against the Houston Astros.
