Steves digital camera review Canon Rebel XT | EOS 350D : Our good friends over at Steves Digicams have published an extensive review of the new Canon Rebel XT | EOS 350D digital camera. It is an upgrade of the Canon EOS Rebel | EOS 300D but incorporates a 8.0 Megapixel image sensor. The launch completes a refresh of the entire digital EOS line-up and confirms Canon's commitment to digital SLR research and development. "The new Canon 350D will now take over," said Mogens Jensen, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging Europe. "Canon predicts the D-SLR market will double in size by the end of 2006." Canon EOS 350D - Improved
The new CMOS sensor and high performance DIGIC II performance lead a number of improvements to the Canon EOS 300D. Users can now select between three focus modes: One-Shot AF, AI SERVO and AI Focus. Writing to memory card is 3.5 times faster and the interface is upgraded to USB 2.0 Hi-Speed for fast image downloads. Mirror lock-up and 2nd curtain flash have also been added. The Canon EOS 350D digital camera now features the same Monochrome mode found on the EOS 20D, allowing users to shoot in black & white with a range of filter effects.
Canon EOS 350D - Steve's comments
According to Steve: "The EOS Digital Rebel camera is not a chunky camera by any means and no one has suggested that it was in need of a diet. By comparison, however, the EOS Digital Rebel XT camera is considerably smaller.", "Another feature of the info-playback thumbnail is that it will "blink" areas of the image deemed to be overexposed. You can use this as a visual warning that you might need to adjust exposure compensation and re-shoot the picture.", and "The "digital half" of the EOS Digital Rebel is on the back. Here you'll find both a monochrome data display and a 1.8-inch color LCD for accessing the menus and reviewing captured images." You want to learn more about the Canon Rebel XT | EOS 350D?
