PentaxPentax OptioWP passed Japan quality control test : Pentax Corporation is pleased to announce that the recently introduced OptioWP compact digital camera has passed official Japan Ship-Machinery Quality Control Association testing to prove its dustproof performance - a benefit that serves as an ideal complement to its already established waterproof performance. Developed in line with the concept of blending sophisticated design with assured durability in use outdoors and in water sports situations, the OptioWP is ideal for a diverse range of shooting opportunities. The Pentax OptioWP gives users complete assurance when using the camera outdoors, in water sports situations and a highly diverse range of everyday conditions.
Pentax OptioWP passed Japan quality control testOptioWP - Dustproof and Waterproof
Following stringent tests carried out by the Japan Ship-Machinery Quality Control Association, the OptioWP has been officially approved in terms of both its dustproof and waterproof performance. The Pentax OptioWP has been tested for degrees of protective performance in compliance with JIS C0920. It has also been proven to comply with dustproof performance Class 5 (camera prevents changes in atmospheric pressure) and Class 8 waterproof performance, (protection underwater).

Pentax OptioWP - Highly reliable design
The OptioWP has passed stringent endurance testing for waterproof performance, which involved use of the product for 30 continuous minutes at an underwater depth of 1.5 meters. In terms of dustproof performance, the OptioWP successfully underwent harsh testing involving talcum powder, the particles of which are finer than desert sand. In terms of international compliance, the Pentax OptioWP satisfies IP58.
