 Olympus C-8080 WZ receives DIWA Platinum Award: The Digital Imaging Websites Association (DIWA) has given its Platinum Award for "Best Advanced Digital Camera" to the Olympus C-8080 WZ in recognition of its all-round superior performance, compact design and excellent value for money. DIWA is a rapidly growing pool of independent web-based specialist publications from across Europe and the USA. It bestows awards on selected products and is highly regarded by both consumers and the industry. The Olympus C-8080 WZ has been chosen by DIWA as the best of all "advanced digital cameras" that received Gold Awards in 2004. The jury praised it's high-speed, wide-angle zoom lens and the superior quality of its 8.0 million pixel image sensor.

The image sensor of the Olympus C-8080 WZ is capable of consistently producing remarkably-sharp images with natural, vivid colours. The DIWA judges were further impressed by the C-8080 WIDE ZOOM's combination of a compact design with the flexibility of both automatic and full manual controls. According to DIWA, other winning features include its Super Macro capability, comfortable grip, user-friendly adjustable 4.6cm LCD monitor and electronic viewfinder which also displays a wide range of photographic information.

The support included for external flash units as well as the option to attach lens converters also found strong favour. In addition to their recognition of the camera's outstanding all-round performance, the jury remarked on the excellent value for money offered by the Olympus CAMEDIA C-8080 WIDE ZOOM.
