The new scanner elevates the original ScanSnap scanner with an advanced software bundle, including Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard, ScanSnap Organizer version 1.0, and ScanSnap Manager version 2.0. The now bundled Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard software is the easiest way to create and share secure and reliable Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) documents.

With Acrobat 7.0 software, users can view, print, and search Adobe PDF files create PDF documents from any application that prints, manage specialized content from Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, Access, Microsoft Office and Publisher (Windows only), password protect documents, combine application files into a single PDF document, and organize comments from multiple reviewers with sorting and filtering tools.

Fujitsu ScanSnap - Scanner profiles
The new ScanSnap Organizer software enables users to attach passwords to ScanSnap created PDF files ensuring that only authorized users can open them or see their thumbnail images. The upgraded version also displays scanned PDF files as thumbnails so users can view any image in a particular file simply by clicking the thumbnail's directional arrows. Furthermore, PDF files can be easily rearranged by "dragging and dropping" selected images. Improving on the renowned ScanSnap Manager software, the upgraded version gives users the ability to create up to nine frequently used and individually tailored scanner profiles based on preferences such as application selections, saving locations and scanning modes.

Fujitsu ScanSnap - One-touch Adobe PDF generation
The new Fujitsu ScanSnap scanning solution maintains all of its award-winning features and capabilities, including authentic one-touch Adobe PDF generation, simple business card scanning and organizing functionality, a 50-page automatic document feeder, high optical resolution, sleek design and fast file handling. Now, with the standard bundle, users also get the Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner "Carrier Sheet," a paper adapter that allows the user to digitize A3 and B4 sized documents in addition to A4, B5, A5, B6, A6 documents and business cards. The Carrier Sheet also allows safe scanning of delicate documents such as photos and fragile papers.

Fujitsu ScanSnap - 15 pages per minute
The Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner transforms paper into useful digital information at speeds of up to 15 pages per minute (ppm) for single-sided documents and 30 images per minute (ipm) for double-sided documents. Multi-page documents containing color, black and white, and text and graphic information on both sides can be processed into authentic, searchable PDF files with the bundled Acrobat 7.0 Standard software. The resulting PDF documents are stored in the Windows file system on a local PC or network allowing the user to organize, share, protect and interact with this information as they would with any other electronic file.

The Fujitsu ScanSnap scanning solution is now available for $495 (U.S. list) through the Fujitsu web site, via mail order catalogs, and via Fujitsu authorized resellers. The Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner comes bundled with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard software making the product an outstanding value. Fujitsu is also offering a $50 rebate via the web site. Customers that purchased the ScanSnap fi-5110EOX scanner after February 28, 2005 are entitled to a free upgrade to Adobe Acrobat 7.0.

Fujitsu ScanSnap - Service advantage
The Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner comes standard with a 1-year depot limited warranty. Additionally, the Advance Exchange service offering, Fujitsu's overnight replacement program, provides the customer a replacement scanner prior to shipment of any malfunctioned scanner back to Fujitsu. The Advance Exchange offering for the ScanSnap scanner is offered as an upgrade during the limited warranty period for only $59 or on a yearly basis post-warranty for only $99 at point of sale or $159 after (contract and agreement required for replacement unit).
