SamsungSamsung mobile camera phone with JPEG file viewer : Samsung Electronics introduces its first "file viewer" phones (models SPH-V6500 and SCH-V650) that allow users to view documents and images over the mobile phone. The phones are expected to enhance the productivity of businesspeople who are constantly on the go, but need to view business-critical information, such as PDF files, at any time and any place. Data can be easily downloaded onto the phones in its original file format through a PC connection, similar to an external storage device. Microsoft Word and Excel files can be viewed, as well as PDF, JPG, and TXT files. The phones feature a 1.3 megapixel camera with a 16 million-color LCD.

In addition, a remote control function provides universal control of home appliances including the air conditioner, PC, game console, TV, DVD, VCR and even the automobile. The phones have also acquired the S-Mark certification from the Korean government for their anti-bacterial silver nano-particle coating. The file viewer phones support various multimedia functions. Users can watch VOD programs and find the words to their favorite song. They can also use one of 7 different fonts available for personalized messaging. The SCH-V650, in particular, uses the WIPI 2.0 version, the Korean wireless internet platform, and is expected to increase the ease of enjoying various content.
