KingstonKingston MMCplus flash card introduction : Kingston announced the further expansion of its digital media product offerings with the new Kingston MMCplus cards in 256MB, 512MB and 1GB capacities and the 256MB MultiMediaCard (MMC) card. Based on the high-speed MMC card format, the new Kingston MMCplus cards offer increased performance and flexibility. MMCplus is based on the latest MultiMediaCard System Specification Version 4.0. This new standard offers five times the reading speed over the previous MMC standard and is suited for data-intensive applications such as digital imaging and digital music. The new Kingston MMCplus cards operate at faster clock speeds and support wider bus-widths (x1, x4, x8 bit).

In addition to the new MMCplus cards, Kingston Technology also increased the regular MMC cards to 256-MB. All new cards are immediately available. "As more cameras, mobile phones and digital devices demand higher speed and greater capacity for their digital media, Kingston Technology will continue to provide our customers with the latest in high-performance digital media solutions," said Thomas Marschner, Vice President, Sales and Marketing Europe, Kingston Technology.
