PanasonicPanasonic NV-GS17 camcorder introduction : Panasonic has set new standards with a powerful optical zoom in super-compact camcorders. The new Panasonic NV-GS17 camcorder has a 24x optical zoom similar to the previous range Panasonic camcorders. Panasonic camcorders are designed for simple and intuitive operation. Control buttons, which in earlier models were mounted on the rear of the LCD monitor, are now integrated with-in the LCD display, and can be operated with one hand using the multiple language menu and a joystick. The subject can therefore be kept in the viewfinder while settings are being changed. A further improvement is the power LCD, which nearly doubles the brightness of the display at the touch of a button.

With the Panasonic NV-GS17, an integral LED video light enables recordings to be made even in poor lighting conditions. A particularly convenient feature is the new Quick Start, which makes you ready to shoot in 1.3 seconds. Right at the start, the "Pure Colour Engine" LSI chip converts the CCD output signal, which still combines all three colours, into an RGB signal, which contains the three primary colours red, green and blue. The low-frequency brightness signal is extracted and then optimised in the same way as in professional television. Advanced 3D noise reduction gives you better results when shooting in low lighting conditions, as it improves colour noise reduction performance by 30 percent compared with conventional systems. The innovative LSI achieves truly superb colour reproduction.

Panasonic NV-GS17 - 24x optical zoom
The Panasonic NV-GS17 camcorder is fitted with a 24x zoom. Because the zoom lens is optical, the Panasonic NV-GS17 record both movies and still pictures with equally outstanding quality. This performance is to be found in a surprisingly compact and ultra-light housing of only 410 grams, enabling the camcorder to be taken anywhere. The joystick makes the camera much easier to use, letting you control all basic operations with one hand. As you shoot, just watch the image in the monitor and follow the instructions in the menu guide. Operations can be carried out quickly and easily without even taking your eye off the subject for a moment. The information in the On Screen Display (OSD) can be displayed in eight languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish and Polish). You can choose to view information in the language you prefer for easy, comfortable operation.

Panasonic NV-GS17 - USB 2.0 Hi-speed interface
The USB 2.0 high-speed compatibility enables DV data to be streamed to the PC using a single USB cable. In addition, "Video Class Compatibility" for Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition/Professional, SP2 or later versions enables DV video data to be transferred in real-time using the same USB cable. The MotionDV STUDIO 5.3 LE video editing software provided simplifies the editing of video footage on the PC, so that you can produce professional-looking movies by easy editing of the raw material. Special effects or music can be added at will, simply by following the instructions in the Help mode.
