OlympusOlympus ZUIKO 7-14mm lens at CeBIT 2005 : Some weeks ago when we attended the PMA show in Orlando, US, we already seen this new baby. At CeBIT Olympus had the new Olympus ZUIKO 7-14mm lens mounted on the Olympus E-300 and showed the set to us. This new lens is actually designed for use by pros. The Olympus ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 7-14mm 1:4.0, or just Olympus ZUIKO 7-14mm, attracts photographers who are looking for ultra-wide-angle shooting capabilities. Those super wide angle lenses are used to create dramatic expressive compositions. With a focal length beginning at merely 7mm, which is equivalent to 14mm on a 35mm camera, it offers a 114 degree angle of view. Actually Olympus has the world's widest for digital zoom lenses in its hands!

It is always amazing to see how the working area changes when shooting with a super wide angle lens like the Olympus ZUIKO 7-14mm. You are right in the middle of the action, you need to be, and with a working distance (from object to front lens) of only 10cm, exciting perspectives can easily be created!

Olympus ZUIKO 7-14mm - Digital SLR
The new Olympus ZUIKO 7-14mm lens is designed to maximise the performance of digital SLRs based on the FourThirds Standard. This enables full cross-manufacturer lens interchangeability among camera systems applying the standard. The lens' high resolving power make sure the image sensor obtains the detail it needs to achieve its full potential. The Olympus E-System is the world's first digital SLR system to be based on the FourThirds Standard jointly developed by Olympus and Kodak. The professional system has been designed exclusively for digital photography. It currently comprises the Olympus E1 and Olympus E300 SLR bodies plus a range of interchangeable lenses and other accessories.
