Olympus DIWA Awards ceremony : During the CeBIT 2005 event and at the enormous and colorful Olympus stand LetsGoDigital, member and co-founder of the DIWA Awards organisation, was honoured to be part of the DIWA Awards ceremonies. As a representative of the DIWA (Digital Imaging Websites Association), a world-wide organisation of collaborating websites, together with Erik Kaper, General Manager of the DIWA Awards and among other DIWA members we handed over several prestigious DIWA Awards. Olympus received two DIWA Silver Awards for their Olympus E-300 and Olympus Mju mini DIGITAL cameras, one DIWA Design Award for the Olympus Mju mini DIGITAL and a DIWA Platinum 2004 Award for the Olympus Camedia C-8080 Wide Zoom digital camera.|
Olympus - Awards|
All three Olympus cameras passed the rigorous DIWA test procedure. In 2004, the 8 Megapixel Camedia C-8080 Wide Zoom scored well above the limit for a DIWA Gold Award, thanks to its fast 5x zoom lens with 28-140 mm zoom range, outstanding overall image quality, flexible handling and good value for money. The DIWA members voted for the best of the best among the DIWA Gold Award advanced digital cameras and selected the Olympus C-8080 Wide Zoom as the best of the best, therefore receiving the DIWA Platinum 2004 Award. Both Olympus E-300 and the Olympus Mju mini DIGITAL were reviewed by a number of DIWA members and received the DIWA silver Award.
Olympus - Olympus E-300
The Olympus E-300 is the second D-SLR camera based on the FourThirds Standard and delivers a high resolution of 8 Megapixels. The Olympus E-300 incorporates a Supersonic Wave Filter that prevents dust and other foreign particles to ruin the captured image. This is just one of many features distinguishing the E-300 from its rivals, another being its unique appearance in an ultra-compact body. The silver medal represents recognition of high overall performance and is a summary of numerous rigorous tests conducted by DIWA camera experts.
Olympus - Olympus Mju mini DIGITAL
Efficient image processing deliver suitable images for casual amateur photographers. Additionally, the Mju mini DIGITAL features a weather-proof exterior, considered by the DIWA experts to be a vital advantage for active users, on the beach, in a boat, in the ski slopes or other similar environments, normally considered to be hostile to a camera. The Olympus Mju mini DIGITAL met the requirements from the DIWA testing experts with very high scoring results. The average score qualified for a DIWA Silver Award, which is excellent for a camera in its price range and targeted consumers. Beside receiving the DIWA Silver Award the Olympus Mju mini DIGITAL was also good for the DIWA Design Award because of its unique construction. In announcing this award the DIWA jury described the Olympus Mju mini DIGITAL as "a radical diversion from traditional camera designs which unlike many other design products is not an overpriced collector's item for the few, but a useful imaging tool for any design conscious lifestyle enthusiast."
Olympus - Olympus Camedia C-8080 WZ DIWA Platinum 2004 Award
The Olympus Camedia C-8080 WZ receives the DIWA Platinum Award after being chosen by the DIWA members as the best of the gold winning Advanced digital cameras in 2004. Its high speed wide angle zoom lens proved to be a perfect match with the 8 Megapixel 2/3" image sensor, providing low-noise images with vibrant colours and remarkable sharpness.
