"With these new higher capacity media, users will get the most out of their digital devices without compromising quality or having to worry about how much memory their content is consuming," commented Olivier Schwartz, European Marketing Manager in charge of the Memory Stick business. At only one-third the size and half the weight of full-size Memory Stick media, Memory Stick PRO Duo media offers the same technologies and features of Memory Stick PRO media and high capacities.

Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo - Read and write speeds
The 2GB Memory Stick PRO Duo (High Speed) media is also designed to support read and write speeds of up to 80 Mbps, which varies with supporting hardware. Both media offer higher durability with a standard operating temperature range of -25°C to +85°C. They are ideal for use in compact digital devices, including mobile phones, pocket-sized digital still cameras, compact camcorders, and gaming devices.
