SonySony midi Micro Vault USB flash drive introduction : At this year’s CeBIT, Sony Europe’s Recording Media & Energy (RME) division demonstrated the very latest in Micro Vault technology. This includes the introduction of a high speed Excellence range, the addition of Virtual Expander software to the entire midi series for further increased storage capacities and the extension of its biometric Fingerprint Access family. Sony’s midi Micro Vault products will be available in 128MB, 256MB, 512MB and 1GB capacities. Thanks to the pre-loaded Virtual Expander data compression software the new models will be able to store up to three times the specified capacities.

The software enables the automatic compression and decompression of information transferred to it, whilst providing the ability to distribute files via email. The Excellence family of midi Micro Vaults offers a flagship range of high capacity, high speed USB storage devices. With read speeds of 28MB/s and write speeds of 18MB/s, the latest products in the range are twice as fast as previous generations. The Excellence models feature all of the abilities of the original Micro Vault LT range including Auto Zip and Auto Login, Password and PC Lock and an LED indicator. They are available in 512MB and 1GB capacities and come in a distinctive beige tinted outer-casing.

Sony midi Micro Vault - Increased Protection
At this year’s show, Sony will also be introducing a new model to its Micro Vault with Fingerprint Access range - a model that offers 256MB capacity and comes in a new, midi-like design. As with previous generations, the latest addition to the family will continue to ensure that no-one except the user with the stored fingerprint, will be able to access information stored on the device. In addition, a file folder encryption software and a Screen Saver Lock tool are available for increased security and Auto Login providing easy access to the user’s web favourites. The entire Micro Vault range will be on show at CeBit 2005 with the new models expected to become available in April 2005.
