Listening to the requests of the professional market, Fuji Photo Film U.S.A. today announced a new software package for its critically-acclaimed FinePix S2 Pro digital camera that includes camera shooting software compatible with the Macintosh OS X operating system. Fujifilm also announced a price reduction for the FinePix S2 Pro, which is now available at a suggested price of $2295. Fujifilm will bundle this software upgrade with all shipped FinePix S2 Pro cameras beginning in August. Also part of the new software package will be a suite of features including a new EXIF Extractor and updated versions of the RAW File converter LE, RAW File Converter EX Version 2.0 and Camera Shooting Software Version 2.0.

This software update is available as a free download for current FinePix S2 Pro owners from the Fujifilm U.S.A. Web site (www.Fujifilm.com) or direct from www.S2ProSoftware.com.
The new EXIF Extractor is a helpful tool that quickly extracts the JPEG portion of the RAW data file while the original RAW data file remains untouched. The RAW data file includes pure RAW data in a 1440 x 960 JPEG file. Professional photographers, particularly those specializing in wedding and commercial work, will find this feature extremely useful for creating sample prints or slide shows of their work as a picture showcase for customers. In addition to the new EXIF Extractor, both Raw File Converter software programs include an improved sensitization control (push/pull), an improved 1/6 EV from 1/3 EV for precise judgment, camera rotation and zooming when previewing pictures. |
