HPHP Designjet 90 Printer series: The HP Designjet 90 Printer series is a new six-color, A2+/C+-size solution that delivers premium image quality and color fidelity at up to twice the speed of comparably priced printers. An ideal solution for creative professionals in design, proofing, and photography, the HP Designjet 90 Printer series can easily print postcard-size images, full-color pages, or banner-style pieces with a C+-size tray and optional roll-feed capability up to 18-inches. The 16 x 20 in. print size is particularly beneficial to professional photographers as it enables them to offer more value to their customers including photo enlargements and gallery prints - without having to outsource work to photo labs.
HP Designjet 90 Printer series introductionHP Designjet 90 - J.Meyerowitz
“I think of HP as a toolbox with different tools that you use for the right task, I use both HP Designjet and HP PhotoSmart printers for different applications. For example, I recently made a presentation to a foundation and produced quality 8 x 10 prints on the HP PhotoSmart that they could keep. If I want to send a small image for reproduction or larger prints for exhibition, I print on the Designjet, and in the future on the Designjet 90. Each one has its own utility.”

HP Designjet 90 - last for generations
With resolution up to 2400 dpi and a 4 pl drop-size, the HP Designjet 90 Printer series delivers superior, grain-free printing. Specially formulated dye-based HP Vivera inks enable photos to last and resist fading up to 82 years, which will last for generations. The wide range of print size options allow the user to avoid multiple iterations by seeing real size and real color throughout the creative process and virtually eliminate outsourcing.

HP Designjet 90 - Some Features:
- True-to-life photo-quality
- Excellent highlight and shadow detail
- Simplified color management for every workflow
- Supports up to 18 x 24 inch sheets including photo or proofing papers.

HP Designjet 90 - J. Heeger, Adobe Systems: “Adobe Creative Suite, which includes Photoshop CS, has established itself as the industry standard for design, publishing and professional photography. The release of the HP Photosmart 8750 and HP Designjet 90 Printer series, as well as the development of innovative technologies such as HP Professional Pantone Emulation and CMYK+, demonstrates that HP and Adobe share a common commitment to bring more accurate and consistent color across the workflow. As Adobe continues to develop its design and digital imaging platforms, our work with HP will benefit millions of creative professionals worldwide.”

HP Designjet 90 - T. Kunz, GretagMacbeth: “By implementing a color managed workflow, photographers at all levels can see accurate color from their monitor to their HP printer. Beginning with monitor calibration and generic output profiles, photographers will be able to simulate the color from monitor to printer. Custom printer profiles can fine tune even further the excellent color quality obtained from HP printers. GretagMacbeth and HP can help you deliver the most stunning colors, while delivering the best price/performance solutions.”

HP Designjet 90 - H. Wilhelm, Wilhelm Imaging Research “Wilhelm Imaging Research continues to work with HP in the permanence testing of output from new HP photo printers. Because the new Designjet 90 uses the same HP inks, papers, and printing modes as the Designjet 130 already tested by WIR, the new HP Designjet 90 will have the same 82 year WIR Display Permanence Rating with HP Premium Plus Photo Paper as do both the Designjet 30 and Designjet 130. “To further increase color gamut, the new 9-ink Photosmart 8750 adds a special blue ink to the 8 inks that were first introduced with the HP Photosmart 8450 (the 8 inks include 3 channel black inks for full tonal scale B&W prints and enhanced neutral scale stability of color prints). WIR has carefully studied the behavior of the new inkset used in the 8750 and preliminary data indicate that the 8750 will maintain the same 108 year WIR Display Permanence Rating as the 8450 when printing with HP Premium Plus Photo Paper. Confirmation tests at WIR with both the Designjet 90 and Photosmart 8750 are underway.”
