Olympus C-500 ZOOM digital camera introduction : An exciting addition to the Olympus range, the Olympus C-500 ZOOM gives hobby photographers ease of use and plenty of room for creativity and experimentation with full manual control. The captured images are sure to make a big impact thanks to 5.0 million pixels and TruePic TURBO technology to guarantee rich, high-definition shots. A bright 3x zoom lens (38-114mm equivalent) adds shooting flexibility. Movies with sound can be recorded too. These, as well as photos, can be viewed on the 4.6cm LCD monitor. Best of all, this model is very attractively priced. With the OlympusC-500 ZOOM digital camera, shooting is as easy or as creative as the photographer desires.

For many common situations, users can choose from 15 scene programmes including Fireworks, Portrait and Night Scene, and be assured great results. A special help function describes the selected mode and gives a sample picture to make sure the right one is chosen. Automatic mode also allows straightforward point-and-shoot enjoyment. However, for situations that go beyond the ordinary, this camera additionally offers full manual control over the exposure settings to give photographers free reign to explore their creative impulses, a feature virtually unheard of in a camera of this price category. Shooting flexibility is increased by the Super Macro mode which enables shots from only 2cm away.
Olympus Camedia C500 - 5 Megapixel
The level of resolution is generous too: 5.0 million pixels equip the Olympus C-500 Zoom model with the power to capture images in extraordinary detail. A 3x zoom lens (38-114mm equivalent on a 35mm camera)brings subjects in close and ensures superior quality results. And thanks to the TruePic TURBO image processor, users can look forward to especially brilliant images plus fast camera start-up and operating speeds.
Olympus Camedia C500 - Special feature
With the new special "re-size with frame illustration" editing function, the photographer can choose from a variety of templates, directly on the Olympus C-500, for the immediate creation of birthday cards, for example. Being PictBridge compatible, images can then be printed directly on any printer supporting this standard, such as the Olympus P-10 printer, without needing to go via a PC.
Olympus Camedia C500 - Movies on a large LCD monitor
The Olympus C-500 ZOOM isn't restricted to only taking photos either. Movies with sound can be recorded to a length only limited by the available memory capacity, on a 256MB xD-Picture Card, this corresponds to nine minutes. Therefore, movie-fans have ample room for experimentation. Results can be presented on the integrated 4.6cm LCD monitor.
Olympus Camedia C500 - AA-size batteries
For added convenience, the Olympus C-500 ZOOM digital camera uses standard, widely-available AA-size batteries as well as rechargeable types. Photographers will consequently never need to be caught short of power.
