MinoltaMaking its first appearance at CeBIT 2003, Minolta steps up its customer service and support through the creation of the new website, www.minoltaphotoworld.com. Offering a wide range of services, Minolta customers now have direct access to product information, technology updates, as well as photography workshops. As an answer to an increasingly large community of global customers, Minolta Photo World is an effective platform to bring all Minolta product users closer together, and to show them how to take even better photographs. Access to Minolta Photo World provides Minolta customers with the opportunity to learn all about imaging, photographic techniques, and image editing on the computer.
At the heart of the site is the Minolta Journal, with references to new workshop themes, new product introductions, and tips from professional photographers. Entirely customer-centric, Minolta Photo World will constantly expand and explore new topics of photography. In addition, Minolta Photo World members will receive a regular email newsletter to keep them up-to-date on any new product or website information.

Minolta Photo World is divided into several different fields of knowledge for easy navigation and information hunting. The Photography Knowledge Base provides extensive technical know-how on photography and Minolta cameras. There is also a Glossary of information with reference to concepts such as megapixel, CCD chips, image formats, as well as explanations of topics including camera lenses, aperture, and shutter speed. Extrapolated from the basic definitions found in the Glossary, the Knowledge Base is a reliable, detailed information resource that houses a breadth of product and concept specific data. Offering a plethora of accessories for DiMAGE cameras, Minolta Photo World also enables a sneak peek at the assortment of flashes, gadget bags, cables and other trimmings.

With a more hands on approach, Minolta Photo World hosts an online Workshop to help with the intricacies involved with imaging. The Photography Workshop explores nearly every possible aspect of creative photography and will be consistently enriched with new topics and themes. From the essentials of image composition to the finishing touches with image-editing software, the Workshop is a valuable tool in perfecting the art of photography. Already available are the following specific workshop themes: Image composition, Important compositional, elements, Colour composition, The golden mean, Special shooting situations, Holiday photography and Photographing children.

Minolta customers are able to submit their own stories to the Fan of the Month, to be featured with their experiences and photographs in this monthly piece. An opportunity for a little industry recognition or a few bragging rights, Minolta Photo World also sponsors a monthly photo competition with the chances to win some valuable prizes.

Designed for a global audience, the site is available in French, German, and English. Simple registration allows access, and the registration service is offered in English, German, Dutch, French, Svenska, Italian, and Spanish.
