SMC Pentax DA 50-200mm lens introduction : Pentax Corporation is pleased to announce the exhibition of the following reference product at PMA 2005, the largest photo merchandise trade show in the U.S.A., to be held from February 20 to 23 in Orlando, Florida. The new Pentax product is an interchangeable telephoto zoom lens for exclusive use with Pentax digital SLR cameras. At this moment the (tentative) of the lens is smc Pentax DA 50mm-200mm F4-5.6 ED. Major features of the smc Pentax DA 50-200mm lens: compact, lightweight zoom lens, designed for exclusive use with Pentax KAF-mount digital SLR cameras, four-times zoom coverage in the telephoto range.

Other major features are: Angle of view from 31.5 - 8.1 degrees (76.5 - 306mm in 35mm format), 11-element/10-group optical construction, Incorporating ED (Extra-low Dispersion) optical elements, 52mm filter size, Dimensions (diameter x length): 66.5mm x 78.5mm (2.6½ x 3.1½), and Weight: 260g (9.2 oz.).
