JVC Everio GZ-MC500 introduction : JVC, a well known brand in camcorders, has come out with what is said to be the world's smallest 3CCD Camcorder. The JVC Everio GZ MC-500 functions as anMPEG-2-Camcorder and a digital photo camera. During a JVC Dealer Convention in Prague JVC unveiled for the first time its new Everio model. The all black JVC GZ MC-500 with 3 CCD chip technology measures roughly around 74x56x94mm. The equipment contains a cluster of image sensors with three CCDs in the 1/4.5-inch format, which supplies altogether a resolution of 1.33 MP. By using pixel shifting technology the camcorder offers a total resolution of 5 Megapixels (2560x1920 pixels).

It also features a new light divisor, a prism, into which half permeable filters are integrated, which handles color separation. The JVC Everio GZ-MC 500 features a 10x optical zoom lens and a flip open flash. It stores MPEG2 data onto a 4GB Microdrive. According to JVC we can expect even 6GB and 8GB versions of the Microdrive that will be available later in the year. The Everio GZ-MC500 will be available in March for about 1500 Euros. |
