FujifilmFujifilm US DVD and CD-R package introduction : Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. unveils a new optical media packaging system at the 2005 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week. The new design is part of an overall Fujifilm marketing effort to simplify consumer choice. The new packaging system will appear in retail and consumer channels this spring. "With DVD adoption reaching mass market levels, it's important that the industry do more to simplify packaging and educate consumers about media," noted Gene Kern, Director, Advertising and Marketing Communications, Fujifilm Recording Media Division. Fujifilm is showcasing the full portfolio of storage and recording media at CES.

"This new packaging is different from anything on the shelves today and is the result of significant consumer research and input from our channel partners. There has been a real need for simplified format identification, drive speed and recording time on the packaging and this new package design achieves these goals."

Fujifilm DVD package - Design
The new recordable DVD package design - which follows a successful change last year to the company's consumer film and consumer videotape packaging - incorporates larger format designations and consumer information within a contrasting black and platinum color scheme for improved readability.

The design will be incorporated in all Fujifilm DVD products, including the new Fujifilm 16X and Double Layer (DL) products, and the +R/RW/DL, -R/RW/DL, DVD -RAM and camcorder DVD formats. Fujifilm will differentiate the popular Compact Disc (CD) recordable media with black and gold coloring for CD-R and Rewriteable (RW) in both music and data formats.

Fujifilm US DVD and CD-R package - OXOLIFE
Fujifilm 16X DVD media will incorporate a brand identifier for the unique, patented Fujifilm OXOLIFE recording dye also being showcased at CES. This new recording layer dye offers significant improvements in light fastness, moisture protection and compatibility while lowering the impact on the environment by introducing an organic compound to the DVD manufacturing process.
